Can Stala integrated framing assemblies be customized?
Can Stala integrated framing assemblies be designed and prepped for hardware?
Yes, our assemblies leave the factory prepped to receive hardware, based on approved hardware submittals as coordinated with the door hardware supplier.
Are Stala integrated framing assemblies used for anything other than door and window openings?
Yes, they are often used at mechanical chases, louvers, and other ICF openings.
Are Stala integrated framing assemblies available with a thermal break?
Yes. All of our assemblies are available thermally broken.
Are Stala integrated framing assemblies ICC-500 compliant?
From the perspective of the ICC-500 code, Stala assemblies would function as part of the wall unit and thus are not directly in view of the code’s requirements as a tested assembly. Stala provides a cased-opening assembly, which one can then set in a tested door assembly. Stala is nevertheless actively participating in tests for a full wall-plus-openings package with construction partners.
What is the lead time on Stala integrated framing assemblies?
Lead times differ depending upon the size of the job, number of assemblies, and locale. For specifics, please contact us.
Do Stala integrated framing assemblies require additional bracing during installation and concrete pour?
Typically, yes, as the additional bracing aids in preserving the integrity of the opening. We provide general bracing instructions for installers and also provide job specific instructions for each project. Please contact us for more information. firstname.lastname@example.org
Are Stala integrated framing assemblies more expensive than other bucking systems?
Yes and no. Stala assemblies, being constructed of fourteen-gage, galvanized steel, will cost more than a wood or vinyl alternative bucking method. But the number of construction tasks required from wood or vinyl mitigates the upfront cost difference, as does the fact that Stala frames coordinate with multiple sub-trades and permit a quicker construction pace. The tighter thermal seal that Stala enables also contributes to higher energy efficiency, as proven in third-party analyses, and thus lower life-cycle costs.
"The integration of ICF and Stala Frames worked to our favor by saving time during construction as well as ensuring the accuracy and trueness of the door and window frame installations. Our installers found that field measurement was simplified because of the consistency of the frame openings."

Is there a residential application of Stala integrated framing assemblies?
Our standard assemblies can be used in residential construction, including and especially in safe rooms and secure rooms.
